Commonplacebook.com is the personal website of Steph Mineart. When I was a kid, I used to get in trouble all the time for talking too much, and I got yelled at for daydreaming in class all the time, too. Thirty-some years later, not much has changed.

Giant horses, enormous cows, men that tower over the skyline... some of them are permanent fiberglass structures, some temporary inflatables, almost all of them are advertisments for a business. They're cool, and I take pictures of them.

Facsinating. I was particularly taken with the opening when the narrator talked about the vision of "a generation of men". The women were obviously at home baking and sewing.
Also, in the second clip, the talk about highways displacing "outmoded business sections and undesirable slums". He didn't say they wouldn't exist - we just wouldn't see them.
Of course since this was produced by GM, the emphasis was on highways and transportation.
Very interesting. Wil.
