Dark Kingdom

I keep seeing the ads for "Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King" on the sci fi network premiering Monday, March 27th -- a dragon slayer, a two strong warrior women, a ring of fire -- Nibelungenlied? Yep, after further investigation, I called that one correctly. I'll definitely be watching that; my ancestors are Rhinelanders.

Certainly "Dark Kingdom" is a takeoff on "Ring of the Nibelungenlied," which in turn was based on tales of Attila the Hun in the 5th Century, but it has a lot of Wagnerian Ring Cycle elements too. All in all nicely done, though it could have used some operatic music, and maybe a few references guiding viewers to the originals. (And I always thought Seigfried was bigger than that....)

Very good movie, and Kristanna Loken looked hot as a Norse. The movie was very well put together. 2 Thumbs up.

Awesome movie!!! Did anyone watch it on the SciFi channel on the 28th? If so, did anyone catch any of the commercials in between? There was a cool commercial about swords and the likes, even listed a web address, but of course, I didn't write it down. If you know what I'm talking about, please send me a message and share the info with me.
