For some reason, this made me think of a WWII cartoon by the late Bill Mauldin. A GI has returned home to East Jesus, Nebraska, or some such place, and one of the townsfolk is shaking his head: "Must of been purty terrible, havin to live with all them ignernt, uneddicated furriners."
