Really, try MY shoes

I was participating in a discussion on the gayindy.org mailing list about people lying about their sexual orientation, and one guy, apparently a guy who doesn't really know who I am, actually suggested that I should "walk a mile in the shoes" of someone who has to lie about their sexual oriention.

Which is the equivalent of a draft dodger going up to John McCain and saying, "dude, you just don't understand why it was important for me to run to Canada. Walk a mile in my shoes."

Do a bit of research before you say things like this, please.
