Untitled
Four young women sit on a couch to pose for a photograph. One of them sits on the arm of the couch, and because they aren't ready to begin, one of them is standing nearby messing with the stereo. She puts a Beatles CD into the stereo and the soft notes of "Something" drift around the room.
The photographer snaps a few photos to frame the women and decide on his poses, and unwittingly captures something that he doesn't discover until later. He sets his poses and the four get caught up in his mood, laughing and joking with each other. When they're done, they go their separate ways.
Two photos almost identical. In the first, the woman on the arm of the couch and the one at the stereo both are gazing at the floor; both listening intently, sharing the same thought without knowing it. The women in the middle are looking at each other, also sharing a thought they've just realized together.
In the second photo, the women on the ends haven't moved, but the women in the middle are now looking past each other to the women on the ends of the couch, whom they've realized are in love with one another, and are both unable to express it.
