2007 Beetle Route 66 Tour to Roswell, NM

Every year since 2000, a group of New Beetle owners and enthusiasts have made a pilgrimage in mid-June out to Roswell, NM - to "seek out the mothership" as it were. Organized via a New Beetle email list, the event is called "Roswell2k" and a large part of the enjoyment comes from Beetle owners joining together to caravan out to Roswell. My girlfriend Stephanie has been on caravan with her 1998 Beetle Phoebe numerous times, but this year will be my first trip.

This particular year, the midwest caravan is throwing in a fun twist - they're taking old Route 66 out to New Mexico, and after then Roswell event, the caravan will continue out to California, with a visit to the Grand Canyon along the way. The entire trip will be about 2 and a half weeks, (June 25th to July 10th!) so I'm bound to have tons of great pictures.

While we're on the road, my internet access will be limited, so I'm going to keep my site updated a couple of ways - I'll be posting regular updates via Twitter from my phone, which you'll be able to see on a feed here on this page. I'll do my best to upload photos to my Flickr Photo Set for Roswell 2007, and I'll set up a display of the latest pictures here. And I'll blog regular updates to my blog, when I can.
