Social Networking, Me and You - Link Me All Up

So, this whole social networking thing... fun, huh? This past weekend, I actually went out and located my stupid pages on of the social networking sites, updated my picture and profile (holy shit, on some of them I didn't even have my girlfriend listed. Oops. Not single for quite some time!) and crap, trolled around and found some friends that I didn't have linked up yet.

Then spent some time reading about OpenID and some people who are setting up software that will work with all the different social networking sites to let you enter your stuff in one place and have it refresh at every social networking site without having to do it all manually, which is very cool; I'm all for that. Bringitthefuckon.

So at the very bottom of the page here on my site, under the menu of "Meta" - I added links to all my profiles on all my network sites, at least as far as I could figure out. So if you're on them, link me up. If I'm missing a cool new social scene, let me know.

Of any of them, I'm thinking Vox is going to be pretty cool someday - it's what I should get my family set up on for family blogging, because it's basically run by the Movable Type/LiveJournal guys, with social networking software, and some privacy settings that really let you control how much you share of your stuff. It would be a pretty cool (and cheaper!) way for my family to share stuff with one another. They let you put up photos, working closely with Flickr, and they have a video component, too. They're the ones working with OpenID, also, so they're making deals with other social networking sites to allow you to hook your profile on other sites. And because it's the same stuff that runs this blog, I may be able to hook my site in with Vox closely, too. It's all very interesting.
